Perfume: A Century of Scents by Lizzie Ostrom | Goodreads 22 Oct 2015 · This book fascinated me. the only thing I wanted was to be in a perfume shop so I could smell the perfumes she talks about while I was reading about them. REALLY short chapters -- so, you can read about a decade's worth of scents (10 in each decade) quickly OR even spend 3-5 minutes reading about one of the 10 from one of the decades.

Essence of Perfume by Roja Dove - Goodreads 7 Oct 2008 · The first half of the book is dedicated to just that - explaining perfume basics, and then going decade by decade through the most important fragrances of the 20th century. The second half, though, is devoted to micro-biographies of famous designers (who asked for this?) and a ton of photos of perfume bottles without much information about them.
Perfume Quotes by Patrick Süskind - Goodreads “There was only one thing the perfume could not do. It could not turn him into a person who could love and be loved like everyone else. So, to hell with it he thought. To hell with the world. With the perfume. With himself” ― Patrick Süskind, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer
Perfume: The Alchemy of Scent by Jean-Claude Ellena - Goodreads 1 Jan 2012 · "Perfume: The Alchemy of Scent" by Jean-Claude Ellena is a fascinating read that delves into the world of perfume creation. However, the book can feel a bit disjointed at times, as it jumps between technical scientific information and more creative, poetic writing.
Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins - Goodreads 1 Dec 1984 · Perfume, fundamentally, is the sexual attractant of flowers, or, in the case of civet and musk, of animals. Squeezed from the reproductive glands of plants and creatures, perfume is the smell of creation, a sign dramatically delivered to our senses of the Earth’s regenerative powers – a message of hope and a message of pleasure. and,
Quintessentially Perfume by Nathalie Grainger - Goodreads 30 Apr 2010 · as far as books on perfume go, there are very few that are must-reads. mostly just because the subject matter is something only a niche audience enjoys--or at least enjoys to the level of enjoying it as a "thing" and not just as a routine. this is a book that i would probably really recommend more for people just starting off in the "hobby" of fragrances, or to people who are …

Perfume: The art and craft of fragrance - Goodreads 1 Sep 2013 · On the back cover, Perfume has been classified under the genre "gift", which I think is quite accurate: this book would make for a perfect gift for a mother on Mother's Day, as it is a light, short read that would suffice a creative, DIY-driven person …
Perfume: The Story of a Murderer by Patrick Süskind - Goodreads 26 Feb 1985 · Perfume by Patrick Suskind is such a book. Jean Baptiste Grenouille is "an abominable and gifted personage, in an era which was not lacking in abominable and gifted personages". Born a bastard in the stinking heart of the city of Paris in the eighteenth century under a gutting table, the first cry he utters sends his mother to the scaffold for abandoning an infant.
