Nether Portals Won't Link Up - Survival Mode - Minecraft Forum 18 Mar 2022 · So I recently started playing minecraft again and started up 1.18.2. When i went into the nether, I found that my nether portals were not linking up. I had a nether portal in the overworld, went to the nether, disabled the portal that spawned, divided the overworld coordinates by eight, and built the portal in the nether. However, it won't link up.
Question about Nether Portal linking mechanics - Minecraft Forum 31 Jan 2015 · Portals link in a linear fashion though. When portals are only 60 blocks apart, the Y axis will matter, since the portals search for connections in a linear method. I suspect that if you change the overworld portals to match the Y-axis of the nether portals, they will link properly. I suggest reading the wiki for further information. http ...
Portal Separation Distance - Survival Mode - Minecraft Forum 31 Dec 2010 · I understand how to link up portals to make them two way. I have two sets of properly linked portals. The problem is I want a third set, but when I calculated the distances and created the new set, the new portal in the nether takes me to my first portal in the real world and not the new one.
A 2nd nether portal - Survival Mode - Minecraft Forum 25 Jul 2013 · My closest portals in the Nether are about 18 blocks apart. In the Nether you will travel eight blocks for each block you travel in the Overworld. If the portals are about 1024 blocks apart you will be taken to the correct portal. With closer portals you may exit from the wrong portal and may need to place the portals manually.
How can I get 2 separately linked nether portals close together? 24 Jul 2020 · I created one main nether portal in my base storage system that links to my future nether hub on top of bedrock level (overworld coordinates: -238 68 307, nether coordinates -30 129 38). I want to create a separate nether portal in my base as close as possible to the storage system but links to anywhere in the actual nether (under bedrock) itself.
Nether portals won’t link please help!! - Minecraft Forum 9 Feb 2025 · The way the Y axis works in regards to nether portals is different. It doesn't get divided by eight like the other two coordinates do, but it does factor in. It will still try and find the "closest" one, so if you keep getting returned to the same portal in one of the dimensions from two portals on the other end, then I would think that is the portal that needs moved a bit away from …
Nether portal linking only works in one direction ... - Minecraft Forum 4 Sep 2022 · But the 4th one I just can't get to work properly. The nether portal positions were determined in the overworld, in particularly useful places around our home base. So I used those coordinates to then calculate the respective nether coordinates to build portals in the nether. PORTAL 1: Overworld: -270,75,8 (actual gate width is -270,75,7/8/9)
My nether portals wont link up. Any ideas? - Minecraft Forum 12 Jun 2017 · I've been building a hub in my nether linking to different biomes. I built a portal at 3012, 117, 6756 in the overworld, and before lighting it I went to the nether and built a portal at 377, 117, 822 in the nether. I lit it and went from the overworld to the nether with no problems.
Linking nether portals - Survival Mode - Minecraft Forum 21 Aug 2012 · As JimmyTMalice and rodabon wrote in the 3:rd and 4:th posts in this thread (over 6 years ago!) if you divide the X and Z coordinates of your portal in the Overworld by 8 and build a new portal in the Neather at, or close to, those coordinates (or multiply the X and Z coordinates of the portal in the Neather by 8 and build a new one in the Overworld) the new portal should link …
Linking nether portals close to each other... HOW?! - Minecraft … 30 Jan 2017 · You want two different portals in the nether, that will link up with each of these overworld portals individually. What the game does when you go through a portal, is it multiplies or divides (depending on which way you are going) the x and z coordinates by 8 to determine your equivalent location in the other world.
